Crowned the ‘Prince of Painters’ by Giorgio Vasari, Raphael Sanzio was one of the great masters & architects of the Italian Renaissance. On his quincentennial death anniversary, as an ode to his life & remarkable contributions, Kolkata Centre for Creativity in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, New Delhi presents a talk session followed by the screening of a documentary film depicting the painter’s life & exemplary works of art.
Conducted & moderated by art historian, art critic, & independent curator – Nanak Ganguly, and faculty member at the Department of History of Art, Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan – Prof. Soumik Nandy Majumdar, the webinar will conclude with a discussion on Raphael’s unique ways of conceiving & creating art.
